The conditions for Afro-Germans in Germany grew worse during the Nazi period. Naturalized Afro-Germans lost their passports. Working conditions and travel were made extremely difficult for Afro-German musicians, variety, circus or film professionals. Based on racist propaganda, employers were unable to retain or hire Afro-German employees.[8][9]
Some Black Germans who lived through this period later wrote about their experiences. In 1999 Hans Massaquoi published Destined to Witness about his life in Germany under Nazi rule, and in 2013 Theodor Wonja Michael, who was also the main witness in the documentary film Pages in the Factory of Dreams, published his autobiography, Deutsch Sein Und Schwarz Dazu.[14][15]
The SFD - Schwarze Filmschaffende in Deutschland (Black Filmmakers in Germany) is a professional association based in Berlin for directors, producers, screenwriters, and actors who are Afro-Germans or of Black African origin and living in Germany. They have organized the "New Perspectives" series at the Berlinale film festival.[1]
Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis is a rare neurological disease of childhood or young adulthood. The first signs are usually behavioral changes such as failing schoolwork, memory loss, and/or irritability. Involuntary muscle movements (myoclonic jerks) and generalized seizures follow. Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis is a progressive disease which results in personality changes, outbursts of temper, sleeplessness, disorientation, stupor, spasticity, loss of previously acquired intellectual skills, poor memory and judgment (dementia), and general neurological deterioration. Blindness may develop because of a lesion in the vision center of the brain (cortical blindness) and the nerves of the eyes may waste away (optic atrophy). The late symptoms of subacute sclerosing panencephalitis may include muscle rigidity, elevated body temperature (hyperthermia) and/or abnormalities of respiration, heartbeat, and blood pressure. These disturbances of normal bodily functions (homeostasis) indicate that the hypothalamus gland, which is located deep inside the brain, may be affected.
The diagnosis of subacute sclerosing panencephalitis may be confirmed by clinical evaluation and blood testing that reveals abnormally high levels of the measles antibody. Examination of the electrical activity of the brain (EEG) usually shows a characteristic pattern. The fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord (cerebrospinal fluid) typically has elevated levels of gammaglobulin and measles antibody.

(a) The coating is applied as a continuous film or enamel over a metal substrate, or the coating is intended for repeated food-contact use and is applied to any suitable substrate as a continuous film or enamel that serves as a functional barrier between the food and the substrate. The coating is characterized by one or more of the following descriptions:
A 2.5-year old unspayed female German shepherd dog weighing 22 kg was presented to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH), Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan, with bloody vomiting, hematuria and incoordination immediately after a massive attack of honeybees that stung its face, tongue, ears, fore and hind limbs, teats and external genitalia (Figure 1).
Clinical examination carried out one hour after the stings revealed slightly elevated rectal temperature (39.6°C), pale and congested mucous membranes, tachycardia (160 beats/minute), tachypnea (60 breaths/minute), staggering gait, seizures, hematuria and bilateral mydriasis. Face, tongue, external genitalia and the four legs were markedly swollen and had multiple embedded stingers. Erythema was prominent at the sting sites. The significant biochemical alterations were leukopenia, anemia, elevated liver enzymes, serum creatine kinase, creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (Tables 1 and 2). Urinalysis showed hematuria and increased specific gravity.
Honeybees can sting only once, since their stingers remain attached to the skin of victims. Contrarily, bumblebee stingers cannot be found at the affected site, because these bees have the ability to retract their stinger [18]. Venom of Hymenoptera bees can directly cause neurotoxicity, this is the reason for ataxia and facial paralysis in a dog victim of massive stings [19]. Neurotoxicity is due to the presence of apamin in bee venom, which acts on the spinal cord [14]. According to a retrospective study that included 19 dogs that died due to envenomation caused by multiple Africanized bee stings, head and neck are the most severely affected portions of the body, whereas sting-associated edema, hyperemia and erythema were found all over the body. Major pathological findings in affected dogs were muscular necrosis, hemorrhage and congestion of different organs, splenomegaly, dark red urine, kidney and lungs [20]. Presence of jaundice and different pigments such as myoglobin and hemoglobin inside the kidney tubules and bile ducts indicated that red blood cells and muscle cells had been destroyed by melittin and phospholipase A2[11].
Results of various studies on honeybee venoms concluded that melittin has a potential role in order to activate bradykinin (BK) release as well as hemolytic pathway in the body of victim. Melittin has ability to attach and generate transient openings on the surface of red blood cells through which approximately 40 hemoglobin molecules can flee easily resulting in decreases level of packed cell volume [21, 22].
Note: If the needle penetrates a large blood vessel, blood will immediately be seen in the syringe chamber. If this occurs, withdraw the needle and inject a new syringe at a new location. Monitor patients for signs of abdominal hemorrhage.
Hyperglycemia and an increased risk of developing diabetes or worsening of glycemic control in patients with diabetes have been reported in men receiving GnRH agonists like ZOLADEX. Monitor blood glucose levels and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) periodically and manage according to current clinical practice
Injection site injury and vascular injury including pain, hematoma, hemorrhage and hemorrhagic shock, requiring blood transfusions and surgical intervention, have been reported with ZOLADEX. Extra care should be taken when administering ZOLADEX to patients with low BMI and/or to patients receiving full dose anticoagulation 2b1af7f3a8
